Marc Márquez focus on recovery

Marc Marquez will continue recovering in the coming weeks. The MotoGP World Champion together with HRC, have consulted with and compared the opinions of a number of specialists in regard to the injury to the humerus of the right arm that Marc suffered on July 19 at the Spanish Grand Prix. As a result, all parties have decided to modify the planned recovery process.

 The objective of both Marquez and the Repsol Honda Team is to return to the World Championship when Marc’s arm has fully recovered from the serious injury that occurred in Jerez. It is estimated it will take between two to three months before Marc can return to the RC213V. HRC has not set a Grand Prix for the return of the reigning World Champion and will continue to report on the evolution of his recovery.

Marc Márquez: “It’s hard to watch MotoGP from the sofa, I’d love to be there. But unfortunately, things like this are part of being a professional rider. I have always followed what the doctors recommended, and now I will do the same as well. It is time to let everything heal and come back at 100%. I want to thank Honda, my team and all the fans for their support. I look forward to coming back.”

Marc Marquez undergoes second surgery

Marc Marquez underwent a second operation after the titanium plate used to fix his right humerus was found to have suffered damage due to stress accumulation. Dr Xavier Mir and his team at the Hospital Universitari Dexeus successfully replaced the titanium plate.

Remember that Marc had a first operation after falling heavily on Jerez, Marc Marquez was diagnosed with a broken right humerus. Dr Xavier Mir and his team in collaboration with Dr Barrera performed an open reduction and internal fixation of a titanium plate to the right humerus. The radial nerve was untouched and did not need intervention.

Marc is now recovering from successful surgery His aim is to return to the 2020 World Championship as soon as possible with an expected date becoming clearer soon.

HRC renew with Marc Marquez through to the end of 2024

Honda Racing Corporation are delighted to announce six-time MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez has signed a four-year extension of his contract and will continue to race with the factory team until at least December 2024. So far, Marc Marquez has claimed 56 victories, 95 podiums and 62 pole positions with his RC213V in the premier class. These results have established him as the most dominant Honda rider in the premier class.

Repsol Honda Team launch 2020 challenge in Indonesia with Marc Márquez

Marc Márquez and rookie Álex Márquez unveiled the 2020 livery of the Honda RC213V MotoGP machine in Jakarta, Indonesia, ahead of the first test of the year

In front of the watchful eyes of the Indonesian media, Marc and Álex Márquez presented their 2020 bikes, with which they will ride for Repsol Honda in the MotoGP World Championship.

After taking a record 25 Manufacturers’ title as part of their third straight Triple Crown in the highest level of motorcycle racing, the Repsol Honda Team aiming for another strong year as they welcome Moto2 World Champion Álex Márquez to the team. With 309 victories in the premier class, Honda have established themselves as the dominant force in Grand Prix racing and work over the winter period has been intensive to ensure that 2020 continues this trend.

Marc Márquez and Álex Márquez will now begin his final preparations for the Sepang Test (February 07 – 09) where the RC213V will debut the 2020 livery for the first time on track. Finally, the 2020 MotoGP season begins in under the floodlights in Qatar (March 06 – 08).

Marc Márquez: “I am happy to come to Indonesia again, the atmosphere here he is like nothing else and it is great to be able to launch our 2020 efforts. The launches we have are always important to help ourselves back into the rhythm of the season.
